CPD Church Planting Update - Summer 2020
This is my first connection with all of you in my new role as Church Planting Director for the Central Pacific District.
I appreciate your support and prayers. Your prayers and collaboration are needed as I begin this new adventure, as I won’t be able to serve in this role without your help! Each one of you is needed as we need all of the big, medium, and small CPD churches to join me on this journey. I will do my best, and I trust my Lord Christ Jesus to guide me on this new role.
Today, I would like to present officially the most recent churches planted in our District:
Rev Thomas Mount - Holy Trinity Church of Chico
Rev Thomas Mount is the Pastor of Holy Trinity Church of Chico. Holy Trinity Church is a new Alliance church plant in Chico, California that weaves together elements of evangelical, continuationist and liturgical traditions. They held their first service on March 29th using Zoom and have been meeting online ever since for both Sunday services and midweek community group. There are about forty people who call Holy Trinity their home. It's a strange feature of our COVID-19 world that a church can be nearly four months old yet never have met together face-to-face. Despite the irony, they are seeking the Lord together, learning to love each other more deeply and trying to faithfully embody the Gospel. On May 28th they were blessed to celebrate their first baptism.
Manuel and Rosa Tapia - Iglesia Sinai
Manuel is the pastor of Iglesia Sinai. This church was planted in the city of Williams, CA, in January 2020. Manuel and Rosa are a couple who have an immense love for people and their community. During this pandemic, they took risks and challenges. One of those risks involved praying for a sick lady with COVID-19, and praise Lord, she received healing. Now, this lady and her whole family are followers of Christ.
Lucas and Ana Paula Kiryk - Renew Church
Lucas is the Pastor of Renew Church located in Visalia, CA. Renew Church launched in December 2019. Since day one, Lucas and Ana Paula have been working very hard serving and loving their community. Before the pandemic, they already had about 20 people attending the church. Now, Lucas and Ana Paula are continuing to work with Visalia's community by providing food and clothes to the people who have been affected by the pandemic. Lucas reported that more than 500 families have benefited from all these donations. Lucas has been receiving help and support from other non-profit organizations.
What an adventure we are on! Thank you for partnering with me and the entire Central Pacific District as we continue to fulfill the Great Commission.
In His Service,
