Heroes Among Us

A.B. Simpson, the founder of this movement we call "The Alliance," said "God is preparing heroes, and when the opportunity comes, He can fit them into their places in a moment. And the world will wonder where they came from."

God is preparing heroes

As I told the Paradise and Chico congregations that first Sunday they met together, "I don't wonder where they come from. They come from Paradise! And they come from Chico!"

I have to say, two of those heroes are without question Pastors Andrew Burchett and Josh Gallagher. Their leadership throughout this time has been an inspiration to all of us. I could not be prouder to have them as part of our team. My respect and regard for them, which was high before all this, has risen to new levels as I watch them lead their congregations to new heights through a time of tragedy, loss, and grief.

But there are other heroes who serve with excellence behind the scenes. One such hero is a member of our communications team – Half a Bubble Out Marketing based in Chico – which is owned by Michael and Kathryn Redman.

While their whole team make us look really good – and I don't know what we would do without all of them – one member of that team in particular has walked with us every step of the way. Vicky Zancanella has worked way beyond her hours to get updates out in a timely fashion. Without her, you would not be getting professional looking updates that tell the story the way we want.  She understands us, what and how we’re trying to communicate, and she does it with excellence and with heart.

So, Vicky – a big THANK YOU from us at the Central Pacific District. We could not do what we do without you and your team!
